What’s covered?
The Residential Warranty Company’s 10 Year Limited Warranty booklet that you receive with the paperwork on your new home identifies what is warranted, what is excluded, and the duration of the warranty.
- In the first year, the warranty applies generally to workmanship and most materials.
- In the first two years, portions of the major systems in your home are also warranted. These systems include wiring, ductwork, pipes, etc. (See booklet for the complete list)
- For the full duration of the first 10 years, the warranty includes protection on all specified structural elements in your new home as defined in the warranty booklet.
Value to you, the homeowner.
Resale Value – Your home is warranted for the first 10 years as shown on the front cover of your Residential Warranty Company booklet. However, if you should decide to sell your home during this warranted period, the balance of the remaining time on the warranty automatically transfers to the next owner. This transferable home warranty is an excellent marketing tool when you list your home for sale, and can set the home apart making it more desireable to prospective buyers.
